Announcing our newest client, SunCoast Blood Centers, a state-of-the-art, local, non-profit blood bank based out of Bradenton, Florida, USA providing quality blood and blood products to local hospitals and patients. From April 2022, the centres will plant a tree for every blood and platelet donation over the next year - offsetting a total of 2,530 tons CO2e through 40,000 trees.
Due to the pandemic, blood donations have been down across the country, while the demand for blood has only been increasing. This initiative aims to boost the response and engagement of current and potential donors while reducing emissions and creating a more sustainable earth.
Donors can plant trees as frequently as they donate and use their Donor ID to view and track all of their trees online via the Forestmatic Tree Tracker. The total impact of the #GiveLocalSaveGlobal campaign can be tracked via SunCoast Blood Center’s Dashboard, where information such as the total number of trees planted, total cumulative tons of CO2e offset, and an interactive map featuring data on every tree planted, and more can be found.
At the end of each donation month, SunCoast Blood Center donors can use the Forestmatic Tree Tracker to locate their individual trees in the following way:

Change the search type by selecting "Search by User ID" button on the right hand side of the searchbar.
Input “SCBC” + your DONOR ID in the search bar (all together, no spaces), then click enter.
Zoom in and see exactly where each tree is located, what it looks like, who planted it and much more.
